UDP Gateway for logging from DM780 to DXKeeper ============================================== UDPGateway.exe = compiled executable file. DxKeeper must be up and running before gateway is started - in order to allow the gateway to establish DDE communication to DX Keeper. The Gateway software starts minimized. You can maximize it and you will see the UDP telegrams issued by DM780 when you add a qso to the DM780 logbook. DM780 must be configured in the following way: - Go to logbook options - select the sheet QSO Forwarding - Activate the UDP checkbox - Fill in the address 127.0.0.1 (assuming the gateway software being installed on the same PC as DM780) - Fill in the port 2235 which is the default UDP port the gateway software initialises on Thats all ! Following limitations: - The gateway software is submitting only the StartQSO-time to DXKeeper which logs it as start and end time. - Comments are not transferred - Contest serials are not transferred - QSL status is not transferred - Country info is not transferred, DXKeeper allocates it automatically in its database based on DXKeeper country definition - QSL sent/received , eQSL sent/received are not transferred. I do the complete QSL/eQSL/LoTW management in DXKeeper. The zip-file includes besides this readme.txt the following files: - UDPChat.vbp (VB6 project file) - UDPChat.vbw - frmMain.frm - frmMain.frx - FT-9000.ico If you intend further developping the gateway software, copy those 5 files to an own directory and you can open UDPChat.vbp in Visual Basic 6. Good luck ... Comments and improvements are always very welcome. 73's de LA0FA, Matthias www.la0fa.com
